High Speed Doors

Clean room applications

The need for more hygienic doors in pharmaceutical and food preparation areas has led to the introduction of a number of refinements and even specific models for such uses.

With input from GSK engineers the model Px was developed for pharmaceutical clean room areas. Mirror finish stainless steel construction, remote control panels, specially fabricated curtains - all to ensure no static to attract dust and easyclean surfaces all round. The design incorporated rounded, sloping surfaces to again reduce the need for cleaning.

Other doors, for food production areas, are provided in stainless steel, paint or galvanised finish.

Standard High Speed Roller Doors

The design of these doors depends on the application and are used more for larger internal and external applications where roller doors are requested.

External Applications

Especially where high winds are possible we recommend the Turbofold range of doors. Designed with external applications in mind, the horizontal tubular and modular construction, gives more resistance against wind force than any roller type door.

The modular design of the curtains allows quick, easy and low cost repairs to curtains. No more full replacement curtains at several thousand pounds each, a simple replacement section can cost less than £100.

Chiller Room Applications

Again, the Turbofold door has been designed to utilise a modular insulated curtain. The advantage of this type of curtain is that it reduces heatloss when the curtain is down, and its high speed automatic open/close cycle keeps the loss of temperature to a minimum when in use.

Activators

Activators can be simple push button, pull cord, radar, radio, induction loop or for more hygienic areas touchless sensors. In areas where security is paramount digital recognition cameras can be used.

Interlocks - Airlocks

An area often greatly misunderstood by specifiers and users alike.

An INTERLOCK cuts off the power to another door only allowing one door to open at a time. There can be any number of doors in the set-up. Whoever activates one door keeps all other doors in the system closed. Manual switches can usually allow the system to be overriden.

An AIRLOCK is a system of usually two doors, with one control panel. One door opens, when it closes it automatically opens the second door. Again there is usually a manual override facility so that if one door fails, the other door can be used as a stand-alone or so that both doors can be opened together for a long load to pass through.

FREE Surveys and Quotations

Caydor Directors were involved with selling the first high speed doors into the UK over 25 years ago. Their experience over this time can be utilised to ensure the right door is selected for the customers application.

The company has selected manufacturers who's doors meet high quality demands and competitive prices.

From experience they have found that very rarely does "one size fit all" and accordly have never folowed the trend to supply the "cheapest" door to obtain an order.

The services of the company are free of charge in surveying and recommending the correct door for the application. All doors meet or exceed current Health and Safety standards and recommendations for their safe use are readily available.

The use of high speed doors is regulated by the H&S and are covered by PUWER regulations. All doors of this type are designated automatic equipment under Machinery Directives and should be treated accordingly.

We recommend taking advice on safety requirements prior to placing orders as it can be expensive to bring doors up to the latest standards afterwards.
